Win & A Loss In Start To BIPHA Season

The Hornets started the first day of the 2017/18 BIPHA Central season with a win Vs Khaos (7-5) and a loss to the Bauer Cyclones (4-5).

The day started off bad with the Hornets being bizarrely forced to start their first game Vs Khaos earlier than scheduled and soon found themselves down 3-1, but manged to gain control of the game in the second period finishing 7-5.

In the second game they were unlucky to find themselves down early again (3-0) but managed to pull the game back but the efforts were in vain and they eventually fell 5-4 for their first loss of the new season.

The team are back in action in the BISHA Nationals at Herne Bay on the 11th & 12th November and will be next in action in the BIPHA season against old rivals the Norton Cyclones the week after on the 19th November.

2017/18 BIPHA Central Fixtures Released

The 2017/18 BIPHA Central fixtures have been released with the Hornets kicking off the season on the 22nd October against the Norton Bauer Cyclones (2:00pm) and Killamarsh Khaos (4:30pm).

Disapointing Blowout Loss for the Hornets

The Hornets suffered their worst loss of the season and in recent memory with an 8-1 defeat by rivals Norton Cyclones on Sunday.

The day started well with the Hornets defeating Killamarsh Khaos 7-1 before a crucial and possibly even a title deciding match with the Cyclones in which the Hornets never looked into the game after going down 3-0 early in the first period.

Matt Viney pulled a goal back just before the break but the Cyclones never let up scoring five unanswered goals in the second period.

With the BIPHA Central league title all but out of reach for the Hornets the team are back in action for the last games of the season on the 21st May with games against the Blackhawks and the Devils before turning their attention to the BIPHA Nationals and then the IISHF European Championships.

Hornets Back in Title Race

The Hornets are back in the BIPHA Central title race after a 3-2 victory over title rivals Norton Bauer Cyclones on Sunday.

With 16 points in 11 games the Hornets are now just two points back of the leaders Norton Cyclones who will be playing against each other on the 7th May.

European Cup Schedule Released

The schedule for the 2017 Mens European Championships have been released with the Hornets being drawn in a very tough Group D with hosts Duisburg Ducks and Danish side Gentofte Ravens.

Fellow Brits Borehamwood Crusaders have also been drawn in a difficult group (A) with 2016 Champions Essen Rockets and Swiss side SHC Givisiez.
